Dom Update

After completing the Tour of Austria, Domink did some training in Austria that went well and now Dominik has been racing the Brixia Tour in Italy since Wednesday. He says that, "my form is ok, but it is extremely hot and hard, especially since some of the Italian teams ride like motorbikes and that there are four uphill finishes, and that some of the climbs are very steep."

Today's 170 km stage 3 from Angolo Terme to Borno had 2 climbs with the second climb the uphill finish. There was a break away with Santo Anza' (Ita, ISD) winning. Marco Corti (Ita, Barloworld), took the field sprint for 27th (+4:26) with Dominik placing 30th (4th in the field sprint). The current leaders of the general classification are:

1 Giampaolo Caruso (Ita) Ceramica Flaminia - Bossini Docce 13:01:36
2 Leonardo Bertagnolli (Ita) Serramenti PVC Diquigiovanni-Androni Giocattoli 0:00:12
3 Domenico Pozzovivo (Ita) CSF Group - Navigare 0:00:35

46 Dominik Roels (Ger) Team Milram 0:20:30
95 Ronny Scholz (Ger) Team Milram 0:37:02
96 Matthias Russ (Ger) Team Milram
107 Artur Gajek (Ger) Team Milram 0:40:18
110 Martin Muller (Ger) Team Milram 0:40:41
124 Christian Kux (Ger) Team Milram 0:47:03

Thomas Rohregger (Aut) Team Milram dropped out during stage 2.

Tomorrow's 158 km stage 4 goes from San Vigilio di Concesio to Passa Maniva. The initial 110 km is mostly flat 5 lap circuit in San Vigilio di Concesio , but includes 1 short steep climb per lap. Once the circuits are completed with the final short steep climb, they will ascend 1562 m over the final 48 kilometers to Passa Maniva. I looks like it will be a brutal climb to the finish, as the climb gradually gets steeper at they get closer to the finish, with the last 10 km being the steepest (map of profile)
