My first Amstel Gold Race

SO now in my thied year in the Pro-peloton I get to race one of the races I hope to do well in the future...
For tomorrow my goal is to finish and it would be great to be in the Breakaway of the day...
Yesterday I did some of the last climbs of the race. But generally I just now it goes up and down all day long!!!
So normaly (if I'm not in a group) I will support my team- and roommate Cristian Knees.
Well I'll be here in a Hotel in Belgium (close to Maastricht,Holland) all week... to do Fleche Wallone and Liege- Bastogne-Liege... So I'll have some time to Blog.
Later than
Bye Dom

Amstel Gold 2010

Tomorrow Dom is racing Amstel Gold. This past week Dom raced De Brabantse Pijl - La Flèche Brabançonne (Wed, April 14th) GP de Denain (Thur, April 15th). Team Milram worked hard with Rabbobank and Sky to bring the break back in De Brabantse Pijl - La Flèche Brabançonne, but in the end, the at one time over 8 minute gap proved too much to close (Team Milram news). In GP de Danain, a crash in the closing kilometers left teammate Wim Stroetinga with a broken bone in his hand (Team Milram news).

The 45th edition of Amstel Gold covers 258 kilometers including 31 short hill climbs (Map). One of the climbs that summits at 239 kilometers into the race, the Keutenburg, is 700 m long with an average grade of 9.6% and pitches to 20% for a portion of it. In addition to the many climbs and turns throughout the course, the riders must deal with going through narrow roads in neighborhoods with cars still parked on the street.

Teammate Fabian Wegmann is returning to racing after breaking his collerbone (Team Milram news).

Team Milram for Amstel Gold:

Johannes Fröhlinger (GER/Freiburg im Breisgau), Christian Knees (GER/Euskirchen), Dominik Roels (GER/Köln), Roy Sentjens (BEL/Nerpeelt), Niki Terpstra (NED/Krommenie), Paul Voß (GER/Bielefeld), Fabian Wegmann (GER/Freiburg im Breisgau), Peter Wrolich (AUT/Klagenfurt
